I'll ask about current concerns, relevant history, and what you're hoping to get from our work together. You're welcome to share as much or as little as feels right at this stage.
We'll also cover confidentiality, fees, and how we'll work together going forward. By the end, you should have a sense of whether this feels like the right fit, and we'll agree on next steps together.
Initial appointments run for 50 minutes.
-
Missed or cancelled appointments are invoiced in full, with some exceptions. Alternative attendance arrangements (e.g., an alternative time or online attendance) will be offered wherever suitable, subject to availability.
Medicare and third-party funders may not cover fees for missed or cancelled appointments.

Everything discussed in session is confidential, with a few exceptions:
Risk of serious harm — if you or someone else is at risk, I may need to share relevant information with appropriate services.
Legal requirements — I'm legally required to report in specific circumstances, including under child protection legislation or court order.
Clinical supervision — case material may be discussed with a supervisor for quality of care, with identifying details removed wherever possible.
Clients under 18 — some information may need to be shared with a parent or guardian, particularly around safety. We'll discuss what stays between us as part of our work together.
Medicolegal and third-party assessments — where an assessment is requested by a court, insurer, solicitor, or other third party, standard confidentiality does not apply. Information and findings are provided to the requesting party as agreed, and this will be made clear to you before the assessment begins.
