The finer details of our work together
-
Just reach out through the contact form.
I’ll be in touch by email to arrange a quick (~10 mins) phonecall—an opportunity for us to get to know one another, and to see if my approach will be a good fit for you. From there, we can schedule our first appointment.
-
A referral is not needed for an initial appointment.
Once our work begins, we’ll need your permission to be in touch with your regular GP or referrer.
-
In-person appointments take place in West Perth (adults) or Leederville (children, families).
Adults: West Perth Healthcare Centre | 2/1260 Hay Street, West Perth W.A.
Children & Families: Lifespan Psychology Centre | 251 Oxford Street, Leederville W.A.
-
Telehealth appointments are available for adults (ages 18+).
We do not offer ongoing telehealth treatment for children or teens.
-
Privately-funded clients are offered a reduced fee of $240 per 50-minute session during regular hours (Mon-Fri, 9am - 4:50pm). Outside-hours consultations attract a fee of $260 per 50-minute session.
Services for agencies, organisations and third-party funders (excluding NDIS) attract the full fees recommended by the Australian Psychological Society, unless agreed otherwise.
-
Eligible patients can access a Medicare rebate under a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan, Chronic Condition Management Plan or Eating Disorder Treatment Plan.
The current Medicare rebate (reimbursement) for a Mental Health Treatment Plan when seen by a clinical psychologist is $149.05.
Patients may self-claim this rebate via Services Australia—the process is simple, and I’ll provide instructions when we schedule our appointment.
Private Health rebates may be available, depending on your plan. Please check your eligibility with your insurance provider.
-
A referral is not required to access services.
However, patients wishing to access rebated sessions under Medicare will need to provide a valid referral letter from their regular GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician. Under Medicare rules the referral letter MUST specify:
Your name, address and date of birth
Statement of diagnosis or presenting symptoms
Number of sessions referred for (max. 6 per referral)
Referral pathway (whether under a mental health treatment plan or otherwise)
Referrer’s signature, date and provider number
Rebates cannot be processed under incomplete or invalid referrals.
-
I can provide psychological services for self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants.
I do not provide services to agency-managed (NDIA-managed) participants.
-
I'll ask about current concerns, relevant history, and what you're hoping to get from our work together. You're welcome to share as much or as little as feels right at this stage.
We'll also cover confidentiality, fees, and how we'll work together going forward. By the end, you should have a sense of whether this feels like the right fit, and we'll agree on next steps together.
Initial appointments run for 50 minutes.
-
Initial appointments may be cancelled at least 7 days in advance, without fee.
Missed or cancelled appointments with less than 7 days’ notice are invoiced in full, with some exceptions. Alternative arrangements (e.g., an alternative time or online attendance) will be offered wherever suitable, subject to availability.
Once therapy is underway, I offer a small allowance of appointments per 6-month period which may be cancelled without fee, regardless of reason or notice period. The details will be discussed in our first appointment.
Medicare and third-party funders usually do not not cover fees for missed or cancelled appointments.
-
Everything discussed in session is confidential, with a few exceptions:
Risk of serious harm — if you or someone else is at risk, I may need to share relevant information with appropriate services.
Legal requirements — I'm legally required to report in specific circumstances, including under child protection legislation or court order.
Clinical supervision — case material may be discussed with a supervisor for quality of care, with identifying details removed wherever possible.
Clients under 18 — some information may need to be shared with a parent or guardian, particularly around safety. We'll discuss what stays between us as part of our work together.
Medicolegal and third-party assessments — where an assessment is requested by a court, insurer, solicitor, or other third party, standard confidentiality does not apply. Information and findings are provided to the requesting party as agreed, and this will be made clear to you before the assessment begins.
